This project, carried out at the La R\u00e1bida Energy Park (Huelva), has enabled the company to produce raw material that it has then converted into circular phenol and acetone from single-use plastics, such as plastic bags or plastic cutlery, dumped in the grey bin.<\/p>\n<p>To carry out this first test, 300 tonnes of waste plastic were recycled, giving a second life to plastics that cannot be reused and that would have accumulated in a landfill if they had not been chemically recycled. After being subjected to a temperature of 500\u00baC without oxygen in a reactor with subsequent cooling, this residual plastic waste has been used as an alternative raw material to petroleum. Thus, it has been possible to convert these single-use plastics into raw materials for the production of wind turbines, solar panels or technological products, among many other uses of phenol.<\/p>\n<p>This innovative operation in our country, the result of months of research and tests at different scales, is another step forward in Cepsa&#8217;s commitment to the circular economy and the use of alternative raw materials to oil for the production of sustainable solutions for mobility and the chemical industry.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Cepsa produce fenol
