he pioneering project introduces a new model for the transport and storage of green hydrogen that is faster, more flexible and more efficient by making use of existing pipeline and tank infrastructure.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Exolum has launched the world\u2019s first project aimed at transporting and storing green hydrogen at commercial scale using existing infrastructures through Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC). The initiative is being carried out in Immingham, the United Kingdom\u2019s largest port for freight transport.<\/p>\n

Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers are organic compounds capable of absorbing and releasing hydrogen through chemical reactions, allowing them to function as an effective medium for hydrogen storage and transportation.<\/p>\n

Through this approach, the project will enable the use of Exolum\u2019s current infrastructure to accelerate the development of the hydrogen market in a faster, more flexible and efficient way. It also supports a more targeted development of hydrogen infrastructure, ensuring storage facilities are located closer to expected demand points such as ports and industrial areas.<\/p>\n
