The project, which has involved an investment of more than €5 million, will improve safety and traffic flow for freight vehicles accessing the port’s outer facilities.

Construction works on the new single access point to the Port of Huelva’s Outer Harbour are nearing completion and are expected to become operational in early 2025. This initiative will provide greater safety and smoother traffic flow for freight vehicles seeking to access the Outer Harbour.

Following a site visit to the works accompanied by the Head of the Projects and Works Department, Guadalupe Díaz, the president of the Port of Huelva, Alberto Santana, stated that “this initiative will facilitate and streamline access to the Port of Huelva for land transport flows, allowing freight carriers to reach the Ingeniero Juan Gonzalo Quay, Muelle Sur, the jetties and the facilities of various companies within the port community in a safer, faster and more direct way.”
Santana added that the project will help improve the transfer of goods between land and maritime transport modes, further strengthening the Port of Huelva’s position as a key multimodal logistics hub in southwestern Europe.
