The Association for the Commercial Promotion of the Port of Huelva (HuelvaPort) brings together more than fifty companies of the port community or companies linked to the activity of the Port of Huelva, with the aim of forming a strong and dynamic business fabric, capable of generating synergies around the port of Huelva, as well as offering a comprehensive range of joint services.

HuelvaPort was created in July 2016 to boost the promotion of the Port of Huelva in its immediate hinterland and beyond, with the aim of generating new traffic and added value for the companies that make up this port community.

Having completed the first term of the first Board of Directors of HuelvaPort, I would like to thank the entire team, led by Ignacio Pujol, for their work. As the new president of HuelvaPort I would like to promote collaboration with other institutions and strengthen the business and industrial fabric linked to the Port of Huelva, as well as strengthening the port-city links.

In this sense, I consider it necessary to cooperate with different administrations and institutions in the province of Huelva, such as the Huelva Business Federation, the Huelva Chamber of Commerce and the University, together with the Huelva Port Authority, to boost the economy, as well as to promote an increase in exports and the establishment of agri-food processing industries in the province.

With a view to fostering the generation of wealth and employment in the province, we must also promote entrepreneurship among young people with the help of the University of Huelva, as well as create an entrepreneurship round table to boost provincial economic activity, in addition to the need for an agile and efficient administration for the rapid processing of business projects.

Likewise, in this new mandate we will work to broaden HuelvaPort’s associative base with the aim of contributing to the increase of the business fabric and the creation of wealth and employment.

Finally, HuelvaPort would like to express our support for all the projects of the Port Authority of Huelva, especially the development of the Logistics Activities Zone, the South Quay, the Levante Quay, the sustainable cold logistics hub, the new fish market and the City of Seafood, among others.

Antonio Ponce Fernández
President of HuelvaPort
