The Port of Huelva will launch a new maritime connection with northern Morocco

, specifically with the Port of Tangier Med, starting on Sunday, 9 March. The service will be dedicated to unaccompanied ro-ro freight transport, capable of handling all types of cargo, including dry, refrigerated and IMO goods.
The new route has been established by the shipping company Suardiaz Group in partnership with the Huelva-based road transport and logistics operator GTO (Grupo Transonuba).

One of the key strengths of the service is that it will be the first high-frequency regular maritime line between a port on the Atlantic side of the Strait of Gibraltar and Morocco. The route will offer six weekly departures, operating a daily rotation from Monday to Saturday between Huelva and Tangier, with an estimated transit time of six hours.

The president of the Port of Huelva, Alberto Santana, highlighted that “this new regular freight connection with Morocco fulfils a strategic objective for the Port of Huelva: establishing a direct high-frequency link with North Africa. It will also promote intermodality in freight transport and respond to the growing demand for cargo from our hinterland, facilitating international trade exchanges.”
