The awards ceremony will take place on 10 July at the Port of Huelva Reception Centre, recognising key initiatives that strengthen sustainability, connectivity and efficiency within the port community.

The jury has awarded the HuelvaPort Award for Sustainable Logistics to Enagás, in recognition of the projects developed at its Huelva plant, including initiatives related to alternative fuels such as BioLNG and renewable gases linked to the hydrogen economy, as well as circular economy initiatives based on the reuse of cold energy generated during the regasification process for port logistics applications. The jury highlighted the innovative nature of these initiatives and their contribution to the decarbonisation of transport and cleaner energy management, aligned with European climate neutrality goals.

The HuelvaPort Award for Efficient, Smart and Connected Logistics has been granted to the GTO–Suardiaz Group alliance for the launch of the new ro-ro maritime line between the ports of Huelva and Tangier Med, operational since 9 March. The service transports unaccompanied rolling cargo, including both dry and refrigerated goods, with six weekly departures and daily rotations from Monday to Saturday.

Starting in October, the service will incorporate new capacities aimed at supporting key sectors in the province such as the chemical and energy industries as well as project cargo. The jury highlighted the strategic impact of this route in strengthening the Port of Huelva’s connectivity with North Africa and its integration across the maritime and land logistics chain.

The Manuel Vega Honourable Mention for Strategic and Commercial Initiative has been awarded to Maghreb Container International (MCI) for its role in developing new maritime connections linking the Port of Huelva with Casablanca and the Mediterranean, and for expanding services to Middle Eastern ports, India and Pakistan through its cooperation with the Italian shipping company Messina Line, with an intermediate call at Castellón.

The service also integrates with the Spanish railway network through synchronised connections with the Majarabique terminal in Seville and the Abroñigal and Fuenlabrada terminals in Madrid, significantly extending the port’s logistics reach.

This year’s edition also introduces a new category, the Special Jury Award, created to recognise an outstanding contribution within the logistics-port sector. The inaugural award has been granted to the Government Subdelegation in Huelva,

in recognition of its key institutional role in supporting the development of the Port of Huelva’s logistics ecosystem. The jury emphasised its role in coordinating actions between public bodies, facilitating resources and supporting port activity, contributing significantly to the port’s operational performance and competitiveness.
