Spanish logistics operator Bergé has added a new Liebherr LHM 550 crane to its facilities in the port of Huelva. With this delivery, it has now incorporated into its terminals three of the six cranes it has acquired as part of its asset modernisation plan. Unlike the two previous deliveries to the ports of Bilbao and Tarragona, on this occasion the unloading has been carried out without the use of auxiliary cranes, but instead the crane itself has been used with the aid of plates between the ship’s deck and the mast.

In terms of characteristics, this type of crane has an outreach of 54 metres and a load capacity of up to 144 tonnes, which makes it particularly suitable for handling bulk cargo, steel products and project cargo. In addition, the model also reduces fuel consumption by 26% and is designed with mechanical insulation solutions to reduce noise and minimise acoustic impact. The crane also incorporates the LiDAT Smart App Maintenance programme, which allows real-time monitoring of the equipment’s condition and performance.
