The Board of Directors of Moeve, an associate member of HuelvaPort, has approved the final investment decision to begin construction in the coming weeks of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley, a major project that will position Huelva as a key hub in the development of green hydrogen in Europe.

The first phase of the project, known as Onuba, will be the largest green hydrogen initiative in southern Europe, with an initial capacity of 300 MW.

The project is led by Moeve, which holds a 51% majority stake, and also includes the participation of Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), a global leader in clean energy, and Enalter, whose majority shareholder is Enagás Renovable, a company recognised for its pioneering work in the development of renewable gases.
The initiative involves a joint investment of more than €1 billion, including associated infrastructure and the development of a self-consumption photovoltaic plant.

From HuelvaPort, the announcement has been welcomed as a major milestone that reinforces Huelva’s position as a global benchmark for green molecules and energy transition projects in Spain.
