⚓ At HuelvaPort, we welcome the progress of the expansion works at the South Quay rail terminal, a strategic infrastructure that will strengthen the Port of Huelva’s logistical competitiveness and its integration into multimodal transport chains.

🚆 This project, funded through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – NextGenerationEU, will enable the addition of a third railway track intended for the implementation of the Rolling Highway service, thereby promoting more sustainable and efficient freight transport solutions.

🔜 The works, carried out by Asch Infraestructuras y Servicios S.A., include the construction of the new V3 track, measuring 1,211 meters in length, and the expansion of the terminal’s operational platform by an additional 15,112 m², which are added to the 33,750 m² already in place. The project also includes the modernization of the terminal’s safety, signaling, drainage, and lighting systems.

✅ The current terminal, designed to accommodate 750‑meter trains, is connected to the railway network of the Port Authority of Huelva and to the main roadways surrounding the Border Control Post. From this facility, weekly services operate to Abroñigal and Fuenlabrada (Madrid) and to Majarabique (Seville), facilitating the movement of general containerised cargo.

🌐 This expansion represents a decisive step in further positioning the Port of Huelva as a leading logistics hub in southern Europe, strengthening intermodality and creating new opportunities for the companies within the port community and across its entire area of influence.
