It has a budget of around 600,000 euros

and the contract has recently been awarded for its execution
The Port of Huelva will begin work in autumn on the construction of a fishing pontoon on the North Levante Quay, following the recent awarding of the contract for its construction. Specifically, the aim is to extend the mooring line in front of the fish market by 96 metres, in order to meet the demand for mooring fishing vessels.

The project has a budget of over 581,000 euros and has been awarded to the company Almarin, Equipos y Servicios Portuarios. The works will take five months to complete.

The president of the Port of Huelva, Alberto Santana, has assured that with the setting up of this new jetty, the aim is to ‘respond to the demand for the berthing of fishing vessels at the North Levante Quay of the Port of Huelva, as well as ensuring the draughts required by the larger vessels which will operate there and providing sufficient space available to carry out their manoeuvres in safety’. Santana emphasised the support of the Port of Huelva for the fishing sector, as ‘has been demonstrated by the construction of the Ciudad del Marisco and a modern fish market’.
