Cepsa incorporates an air quality improvement unit at its energy park in Huelva, located in the Nuevo Puerto industrial estate, in the municipality of Palos de la Frontera. This electrostatic precipitation particle abatement unit, which has been in operation since the beginning of the year, improves the quality of emissions.
Jorge Acitores, director of the La Rábida Energy Park, said that this is a new facility ‘to improve air quality, to remove particles, another example of our commitment to the communities where we are located’. The investment amounts to 12 million euros, ‘which will improve air quality in the surrounding area’.
He commented that the Refinery will be sixty years old in 2025 ‘and that does not mean that we have remained stagnant, the commitment to both technical and especially environmental improvement is continuous, to always be ahead of all regulations that may arise in the future and this is a clear example, the good thing about this is that such projects ultimately have an impact on local employment and development to generate quality employment, which we want so much to spread’.
