The Conference discusses new trends in logistics chains. It seeks to promote the development of SSS as a sustainable alternative. The Port of Huelva is working on the implementation of new regular shipping lines.
The Shortsea Promotion Center – Spain (SPC-Spain) and the European organization of the sector, European Shortsea Network (ESN), have held in Las Cocheras del Puerto de Huelva the annual conference of ‘Short Sea Shipping: Efficiency, sustainability and connectivity at the service of maritime-terrestrial logistics chains’, where international experts from the sector have addressed the trends and challenges of logistics chains in the face of new trade flows, digitalization and decarbonization objectives of the International Maritime Organization and the European Union, among other topics.
On this occasion, this conference has an international character as the Spanish SSS Association holds the presidency of the European organization.
For his part, the president of the Port of Huelva thanked the Spanish Association for the Promotion of SSS for organizing this international conference in the port of Huelva, where crucial issues have been discussed to address the future of maritime-terrestrial logistics chains, such as promoting the competitiveness of short sea shipping, promoting intermodality, and moving towards the decarbonization of transport.
