The modernization and integral remodeling works of the shipyard are planned for 2030, with over 13 million euros investment.

The president of the Port of Huelva, Alberto Santana, the mayoress of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, and the delegate of the Government of Andalusia in Huelva, José Manuel Correa, have visited the facilities of Nuevo Astillero de Huelva, SA, which belongs to the Marina Meridional group, to check the progress of the modernization and comprehensive remodeling works of the shipyard planned for 2030, with a total investment of over 13 million euros.

In a first phase, the company has begun the rehabilitation by cladding of the entire facade of its facilities, which will improve the visual impact of the entire space, in accordance with the image of renovation that the Port of Huelva is carrying out of the entire port front.

At the same time, inland technical facilities will be rehabilitated and modernized with the aim of starting the construction of new technology vessels, repairs, adaptation of engines to new fuels, and other high value-added activities, which will generate economic activity and qualified employment.

During the visit, they also had the opportunity to see the construction works of the pontoon that the company Ferrovial has commissioned to Nuevo Astillero de Huelva for the manufacture of the 50×28 meters rectangular floating steel structure, which houses the new Ro-Ro ramp that the Port of Huelva is building at the South Wharf.
