The Port of Huelva has moved a total volume of port traffic of more than 21 million tons between January and August this year, which entails an increase of 5.65% over the same period last year.
The president of the Port of Huelva, Alberto Santana, has highlighted the upward performance recorded during the first eight months of the year in the movement of liquid and solid bulk, as well as general cargo, which means that “we are experiencing a very positive trend in the movement of different types of goods, such as liquid and solid bulk, main traffics of the port of Huelva, and also in general cargo, as logistics and intermodal port, as we are reaching a considerable volume in container traffic”.
In this way, the movement of liquid bulks has reached 16.1 million tons, which represents an increase of 5.2%. For their part, solid bulks, with a movement of 3.6 million tons, have also experienced an increase of 3.93%.

General cargo traffic continues to rise, after reaching a volume of more than 1.2 million tons, and an increase of 31.17%. Likewise, this positive trend is also evident in the number of containers, with 71,847 TEUs at the Muelle Sur terminal, which implies an increase of 32.5%.
